This Ain't California

My first movie of the Berlin International Film Festival was this German one This Ain't California.

An amazing documentary film about the skateboarding subculture in GDR. The film follows 3 guys from their childhood in the 70´s when they discovered their passion for skates through their punk teen years, ending in summer 1989. This year was a kind of milestone in their lifes. The beginnig of the end of their rebellious life. Then we meet them again in 2011 when an unexpected situation prepared a reunion of skateboarding community.

It´s a brilliant movie, celebration of life. I wanted to ride my longboard after the screening. Even there was snow outside. One guy from the film industry told me it is one of the best films which you can see on Berlinale. I have to agree. It´s a really great film. Germans simply can make good movies!

There is an interesting thing for Czechs - do you remememebr the movie "Lucie, postrach ulice"? The one of the main heroes saw the skateboard there for the first time in his life.

The end of the Russian story

Opouštím ruské území. Marii se podařilo vyštípat nás. Stížnost, kterou jsme s Cathérine podávaly minulý rok, žádnou změnu nepřinesla a když mi Cathérine řekla, že se v březnu stěhuje z bytu, nebylo zbytí, musela jsem začít řesit svoji bytovou otázku. Být sama proti Rusce? Nemyslitelné! Naštěstí tu na Kosmonautech mají volný pokoj, a já se tak na konci února stěhuju do nového. Jupííí!!! Za 20 dní bude ruskému příběhu konec. Bylo na čase!

Like ghosts

Na pár dnů mi přijeli kamarádi. A už byl oheň na střeše. "Hele, tohle není hostel nebo nějakej CouchSurfing!" Vyjela na mě Ruska klasickým povýšeným hlasem. Když jsem ji odvětila, že ona tu měla tři týdny nakýblovanýho manžílka (mimochodem, manžel je o 25 let starší než ona a žije v Rusku, takový ideální vztah), dozvěděla jsem se, že manžel je něco jiného než kamarádi. Ale proč, to už mi neřekla.

Diskuze nevedla nikam. Jako ostatně veškeré diskuze s ní. Sdělila mi, co měla na srdci, zainstruovala mě, aby se mí kamarádi chovali jako duchové a zaplula do svého pokoje.

O pár dní později se v noci kamarádka odvážila použít toaletu a už na ni ve dveřích číhala Ruska se slovy "stop moving". Šílena to žena. Říkali jsme si, že jsme ji měli vzít za slovo a navléct na sebe prostěradla a jako duchové se promenádovat před jejím pokojem. Třeba bychom jí tím udělali radost.

The majority of pictures was rubbish but we found some treasures like the picture above. It doesn´t worth for the 6 € (but if you plan to see all exhibitions in the museum you should include this one in your itinerary). Anyway, we were most of the time suprised how some pictures could win the photo prize. Like this one:
